Dashboard Guide

📤 What You'll See

The Sentinel dashboard provides a user-friendly interface for Web3 traders to monitor their leveraged positions. By connecting your exchange with a read-only API key (which keeps your funds safe), you can access powerful risk insights without any coding knowledge.

Dashboard Components

1. Positions Overview

The Positions Overview provides a quick summary of all your open trades:

  • Asset: The trading pair (e.g., BTC-USDT)
  • Entry Price: The price at which you entered the position
  • Current Price: The latest market price
  • Position Size: The size of your position
  • Leverage: The amount of leverage you're using
  • Collateral: The margin allocated to this position
  • Unrealized PnL: Current profit or loss (not yet realized)

2. Monitors Overview

The Monitors section allows you to set up notifications for high-risk positions:

  • Email Alerts: Receive email notifications when positions reach risk thresholds
  • Telegram Notifications: Get instant alerts via Telegram
  • Custom Thresholds: Set your own risk tolerance levels for alerts
  • Alert History: View past alerts and their triggers

3. Probability of Liquidation

This is the core risk metric provided by Sentinel - a "risk forecast" showing the percentage chance your position gets auto-closed if prices move against you:

  • Liquidation Probability: The percentage chance (e.g., 5%) that your position will be liquidated within the simulation period
  • Risk Visualization: Color-coded indicators (green, yellow, red) for quick risk assessment
  • Time Horizon: The period over which the probability is calculated (default: 10 days)
  • Confidence Intervals: Visual representation of potential price ranges
Trader Tip

In DeFi, flash crashes can result in getting liquidated fast. Aim to keep probabilities below your risk level (e.g., less than 10% for safe plays). This should help size trades smarter.

Connecting Your Exchange

To use Sentinel, you'll need to connect your exchange account:

  1. Create a read-only API key on your exchange (instructions vary by exchange)
  2. Enter the API key and secret in Sentinel's connection page
  3. Select which positions you want to monitor
  4. Configure your notification preferences

Sentinel supports major exchanges including Binance, FTX, Bybit, and others.

Dashboard Settings

You can customize your Sentinel dashboard experience:

  • Display Currency: Choose your preferred currency for displaying values
  • Risk Thresholds: Set custom thresholds for risk indicators
  • Notification Frequency: Control how often you receive alerts
  • Data Refresh Rate: Adjust how frequently position data is updated

We recommend starting with a small position to test the dashboard functionality before connecting your main trading accounts.
